Nikon AF-S 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED VR Micro Hands-on Review

To test this world’s first 1:1 reproduction ratio SWM VR lens(http://bit.ly/AF105mmVR), we went to a flower show to take some nice macro photos. The lens turned out to be fantastic, but the camera we used have attracted some unnecessary attentions. Watch the video to find out why.

  1. Hi , just purchased the 105 2.8 g ed VR and I can hear a motor/mechanism like
noise when focusing and when pressing the shutter button intermittent by clicks!! And keeps
going until I get the photo. It's definitely not the focus. It seems to
be coming from the VR function! With the VR off there is not noise. Do
you know if that's normal ?? Please help!! Thanks DD

  2. Well I am going by the instructions that came with the lens. It states even with the AF-ON button depressed on certain models, ( which means not pressed, not used) the VR is not an option. I don't have the book in front of me, but in different words this is what it states.

  3. Yes, just bought the lens new. In the instruction book it reads this, "With AF cameras with an (AF-ON) button such as D3- series, D300- series and F6 models, vibration reduction will not work even with the AF-ON button is depressed." So I was wrong about the D90 it seems but I don't understand why this is. Other VR lenses work with these cameras and I would of bought the older Non-VR model for half the price if I would have known this. Correct me if I am wrong someone.
