Rez Infinite | Oculus Quest Game Review

By

It’s mind-blowing to consider that, for the most part, Rez Infinite is nearly 20 years old. The original Rez, a trailblazing and beautiful title released for the Sega Dreamcast in 2001, has been re-released and rejigged for many platforms since. It made its debut for VR on the PlayStation 4 in 2016, and now it’s here for the Oculus Quest. Does it still stand the test of time?

  1. You guys have quickly become my go-to VR review channel. Everything is excellently written, your voice is 😘, and I find your verdicts very thoughtful and considered. Really just some wonderful stuff

  2. I keep telling my friends to get this for the Quest, they remain unconvinced. They think it looks too basic graphically and in terms of gameplay systems. I had it on the Dreamcast back in the day, so it's hard for me to know how much my opinion that it's a 'must have' is coloured by that nostalgia.

I keep trying to explain that it's less of a game and more an interactive and immersive ambient trance concept album, and that whatever you assume it is from screen shots pales into insignificance when compared to what it feels like when you're playing it in VR.

Perhaps your review will help me spread the word.

  3. I had never heard of Rez before and it definitely has to be played to be appreciated. It certainly puts you in a whole new world of art, music, shooter gameplay in an exciting yet oddly meditative way. I love how unique the concept is and was and can only imagine the original developers ear to ear grin when they finally got to play their initial humble creation on VR where it certainly seemed to have been designed for at the outset. Great review. You guys have the smartest most incisive Quest reviews out there. Keep up the great work!
