My Initial Thoughts:
A stunning concept and innovation that truly shines in VR.
The closest you’ll get to being inside a cockpit short of being in an actual cockpit.

For the moment VR on fs2020 is just for the VFR ride.
Not for IFR, the interaction and immersion with the cockpit buttons using the mouse is far from the level of VR in XP11.
I mainly do IFR and I stay in the meantime on XP11
Why are you holding oculus controllers in thumbnail if you don't use them in video deepshit
Don’t use SteamVR … use OpenXR …

bit of a waste of 40 odd mins mate you could've familiarized yourself with the software 1st. and too many adverts for such noobish content
https://youtu.be/ABvISnm1uIc
You will have to go to your content manager page under profil and download the tutorials and landing challenges those are addons that you can choose wether or not you want them
I've got a very similar spec PC – Just more RAM. I'm seriously considering the Rift S over the Q2 so I'd love to know if you've compared performance in FS2020 when not recording?
hi, i was playing xplane 11 with oculus rift cv1, but the graphic quality was lost so much, i was willing to buy oculus rift s, but if it behaves like oculus rift cv1 it is not worth it! i have a cpu i9 10900k 32gb memory machine and a zotac 3080 graphics card ok, what can you tell me about it playing in vr, does it affect the graphics quality? thanks !
So is the Quest 2 a good improvement overall with same settings as Rift S?
I have the Rift S and use the following PC hardware. 7700k 32gb DDR4 and a 2080ti and in VR i get bad stutters even at low settings.
This game is refreshing. It can only get better and it directly challenges Google Earth. Nice job Microsoft especially with VR integration. twitch➡️ SUPREME_NOW
very bat video you don't how to play microsoft fligh simulator
thanks you helped me make a decision on to get the quest 2 over the rift s! Was worried about link performance and image quality, but its looking good from the video! Thanks again.
Maybe be by the time a 3090 is half the price it will be optimised for vr
Looks like shit in VR.
Thanks that was a handy tutorial! Didn't realise that you could do all that tweaking. Can run ok on medium VR settings , with a gtx 1070, but runs better outside the cities , try Donegal it looks really good scanning as far as the eye can see, not too demanding on the VR graphics.
It would be a good idea to learn how to use the software for flt sim before trying VR don't you think
firstly, thats the 02 stadium, formerly the millennium dome, not Wembley.. secondly, to switch to VR mode in the quest 2 press Ctrl and Tab.
Thanks for the vid! How did you get the single image instead of “Left+Right eye”? Oculus mirror?
Chas
so was it playable on the Rift S when not recording?
QUEST 2…. I have been struggling for 3 days to get FS2020 to work in vr without success.
Need some help. Thank you !
RTX 2070 Super suck. 3090 suck. whait for 40xx or 50xx… today's GPU aint powerfull enough to Big VR games!
The one screen flash that showed button settings reminded me that those need to be set before you try VR.
For anyone doing VR for the first time in this sim, you must go to key settings and set up the VR buttons for the menu, etc…
If you don’t the Sim will freeze up where not even the escape button can get you out of the sim.
You will see a press ‘VR-camera reset’ message that will not go away.
(No inputs will work at all. You will need to do CTRL ALT DEL to exit the program and start over)
Got it working this morning on the Quest 2. I found a few menus glitchy, but flying really works well. Oculus link and all.
Hey I had this same issue. The stuttering / tearing is fixed by disabling ASW in oculus debug tool. My settings are mostly all on high on all options. It’s 90% stutter free on my 2080ti.
Just so you are aware, the Quest 2 experience is often better using Virtual Desktop rather than the Quest Link cable. No wires and low latency. You do have to buy the Virtual Desktop software through the headset.
I would like to add some pointers from a real pilot, First off set our power at about 75 % cancel the master caution warning after you identify what the problem is is and correct the problem fly the airplane on auto pilot. With all the jerking around you really taxing the resources. If you do twos things to create a steady baseline playing field and not move your head so much it is like watch home movies and the person is jerking the camera around.move your head and stop then move it to look at the instruments hold still. Then make changes to the system you can not give a good assessment with so many things happening at the same time. Get rid of the lens flair that eats up a lot of resources. Good luck I hope this helps you.😁🛫
Go to content manager and make sure all is downloaded for the flight training.
Can you explain if there are any extra steps to get MSFS to work with Quest 2? I couldnt get mine to work correctly
The problem is with SteamVR and NVIDIA drivers dropping frames.. [Steam VR game]: Stuttering and lagging occur upon launching a game. [3152190] . NVIDIA has it detailed on their driver feedback page. That's why Oculus was smoother.
A lot of people are having an issue with the 30 series cards with VR on MSFS2020, the NVIDIA drivers for this is dropping frames far too much making the experience vomit inducing. I have a 8600k@5.0GHz with a OC FTW Ultra 3080 and it's a terrible experience!
Have you tried forcing motion smoothing and legacy reprojection in steam vr settings?
This game is causing most issues for people to just play it then anything I have seen yet .. 2 petabytes ….. that is crazy to even think about .
on my rtx 2080 its quite awful
It needs to be totally optimized and DirectX 12 implemented . On pancake mode I can play with everything on ultra on my RTX 3080. In VR it struggles even on low. Its too big of a difference, Something is not right . I hope in time they will patch this.
I don't know what this man is talking about. I launched MSFS. Downloaded the updated. Went into options and enabled VR mode and started playing the game. Whole process took less than 10 minutes
I swear if you don’t get the index. With that pc your going to Regret it
I keep losing tracking with the oculus s and the screen is just black
the two screens show on my monitor though
