I used the Nikon Z5 to take these Photos.

I took the Nikon Z 70-200 2.8 VR S out for a spin on the NEW Nikon Z5. I went to the beach where I photographed a 1-year-old playing, a family picture as well as some candids. This is a FIRST REVIEW and FIRST LOOK at the new Lens, there will be more in the future. I wanted to make sure I got you some sample RAW FILES and a closer look at this new lens.

  1. Personally I don't give a toss how it compares with Canon or Sony, I don't have those cameras.
This looks a beauty, and I will likely buy one when I get the Z 7ii in the new year.

  2. What even is this review. No actual comparison shots vs old model, Low res entry level body, questionable baby portrait session and hawking ugly Lightroom presets.

  3. Great Review as always Jared, but now I have a dilemma.
    I have both a new D500 and a new Z6.
The question is what lens to get the S lens and only use the Z6 or the Fl lens so I can use it on both. LOL

Is the S lens that much better than the FL lens and will you do a side by side real-world review?

  4. Mine finally arrived after about eight months of preorder. And yes, it is worth the price. I’ve tested it handheld vs other lenses, especially the 200-500 which was less sharp at 500mm than the new Z 70-200 at 200mm. The reportedly new VR is probably why. Now I’m looking for someone to buy the huge f/5.6 monster.

  5. The little girl never smiled once. Where have your skills as an entertainer gone? Was the lens too intimidating? The optical performance seems to be very good. Amazingly, I've got along quite well without a 70-200 / 2.8 all these years. But thank you very much for the video. Greetings from Germany

  6. Nikon is moving ahead like a heavy ship: slowly and unstoppable. I'm really happy with my Z6 and the increasing choices of lenses. Today Nikon announced the the Z 50/1.2 and the Z 14-24/2.8.
