I got mine yesterday and while I have no light leakage unfortunately it does not stay clipped onto my Quest and falls off extremely easy π
These are now FREE BTW. Just got mine yessir π
This is a very different opinion from whatβs floating around. Iβll still try it out to see for myself but I really appreciate getting a different view.
is this the same one sold from oculus themselves? or no?
Is there any covers that come in one piece and is not a rubber and just snaps in the quest 2? All I can find are rubbers
Ordered this yesterday along with the Elite Strap!! ππ»
I ordered it through oculus site for free, just filled the form that my og quest 2 interface is making my face irritated, and all done, shipped from US to UK, expecting it in one week π
I've had mine and love it more than any other facial interface I've tried. I have no light leakage, helps with fogging, and omg it's comfortable. I'm thinking maybe you didn't snap your interface into your Quest all the way
.
Glad i saw this review as was considering buying one after all the hype people like 'VR Oasis' make about them. I do feel they are overpriced for us UK customers especially when you add on the postage. Also why is it that all Quest 2 accessories seem to be like Β£15+ for often what is a cheap bit of plastic, for a controller grip or lens protector .. RIPOFF!.
Karl Gosling, what do u think of the silicone covers from vrcover?
The stock foam with one of the silicon covers is the best IMO. comfy, lots of color options and easy to clean. Also, the silicon covers have the nose flap built in and usually come with lens covers. My suggestion for people who don't the like the feel of the foam and want something more sanitary.
I have been waiting since launch and still have not received my VR cover. I have emailed VR cover a few times , never had a reply. π‘
Cheers for the straight up honest review Karl. Just come back into stock and was deciding whether to pick one up. After this review, think i will pass and stick with the stock cover and save myself some cash.
I never got the lens covering
2 weeks shipping and 5 day response is not bad….
For the VR Cover V2 for the Quest 1 they added three different nose guards. I was hoping they would do that with this one as well. For me I don't have light leakage issues with it on, but it is annoying how easy it comes off. For people that don't like the PU leather there is also a cotton cover from VR Cover you can put over the standard foam version. It is machine washable, so easier to clean then the foam. I haven't tried that one out yet. I like for games that tend to make you sweat the PU leater better than the silicone cover. Also I find the standard foam a bit scratchy/itchy when I wear it for a longer time. Oh and they ship from Germany not Holland π
Your mrs prefers the strap π€ smh I really have to grow up ππ€£
So what cover would you recommend then?
This is the only honest review of the VR Cover Quest 2 facial interface. Its utter garbage, I regret paying and waiting for this. The interface doesn't stay on properly. Its considerably more foggy and it makes the sweet spot a lot smaller. 1/5
Glad to hear an honest review. I just received mine and no one says what I noticed except you. I noticed exactly the same thing. I don't want it and want to see if they'll return it. Hate it.
If you push it on to your face hard enough, the suction will make your eyes bulge out, which will increase the FOV quite alot.
Cheers, saved me buying one. Have you tried the cheap silicone covers from eBay?
Received the limited edition blue VR Oasis edition yesterday and sadly my experience was the exact same as yours. Light leakage was worse, it was not as comfortable as the standard face cover and it did not increase my FOV (as measured using ROV test). Although I am disappointed with it, I will probably keep it solely for extended beat saber sessions, you can just wipe off the sweat compared to the original cover which soaks it up and gets gross quickly.
I have the silicone cover that just goes over the stock interface and it is more comfortable than anything.
I wished I saw this before ordering mine.. Have the same exact opinions with this cover
I made the purchase but still haven't recieved any tracking information. They ask I download the shop app so I did so, but there's still no information about when it'll get here. Hopefully it'll get here before I get my elite battery strap in a month.
I just ordered mine a couple of days ago. Buying it for the vents to prevent my glasses from fogging all the time. Do the vents actually work?
I felt that vrcover was overrated on the cv1 so not surprised that the same applies here, thanks for the review.
Iβll buy it off you mate…. canβt get one for love nor money!!!
you can buy a clone from aliexpress which is also not great but does come with a couple of nose shrouds ..about Β£11, can use the nose shroud with the foam guard and works well . could prob make one
Hi Karl … just watching your video on head straps … Ive just
started building head modules for VR head sets not elastic, it lift 90%
above your head. Soon we will finish the eye vent you will see it in the
pre launch Indigogo site. here is the link if you want to have a look .. not selling at the moment :

Damn…. I was hoping it was better for light leakage.
I got an amazon silicon one and it's great, minus light leakage.
Good to hear it doesn't absorb sweat. More hygienic that way.
piss on VR cover…they seem to have no production capability. Doesn't bode well for the product either.
Thanks you just saved me some money!
I was so looking forward to it too lol
Same experience, long shipping time, stupidly slow customer support, also very unaccommodating. Pretty disappointing tbh
I have ordered this hoping that the velcro spots will be similar to the vrcover face pad for the cv1. I have the thin face pad and hoping things will line up. Any idea if they will or have a pic of the velcro locations?
Karl, I would suggest you give this cheapo a try. I got it two days ago and I just tried the light leakage test by off the quest to see if light leaks through. There was a bit at first through the vents that are designed into the faceplate but when I readjusted the velcro fitted 'leather' face pad there was none. The other thing is that they give you two nose fittings to work with.

One issue that I have had with mine as well as with the stock face fitting is that they seem to pop of so easily at the bottom.
I got mine today. The only good thing about it is the faceplate and the protective lens covers. The first time I put it on my face… I realized how hot it was.. Very uncomfortable. It's a good thing I kept my original Quest 1 VR cover. I just simply attached the Quest 1 VR cover to the new VR cover face plate. Much better. The older material did not make your face feel hot. The new material is I guess plastic. No good. I would not recommend unless you have an original Quest 1 VR cover. I am glad I didn't give it away when I sold my Quest 1!!!!!!!! So the Quest 1 VR Cover attached to this Faceplate gives much better comfort and slightly better FOV. I just put the new plastic covers aside.
