Hello everyone. Thank you for visiting Vahagraphy. This is my review of the Nikon AF-S VR Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED Lens. In this video I will put this lens to work and share some images I take with this macro or nikon likes to call it MICRO lens.

Its a very cool lens and if your work requires you to take some close up macro shots and you have a nikon then watch this video.

I will go through all the specs and most every detail of the nikon 105mm macro VR.

Yes this lens is in my bag most times and yes I use it frequently.

  1. Back when I was still in L A, I bought this 105 Macro G lens off Craigslist. I forgot what the price was. but I bought it much lower than what Adorama sells their E+ rating used lens for.The guy was desperate to sell as he drove 40 miles to meet me at my local Starbucks. What worried me was it might have been stolen. He confirmed the serial nos. on the photos, but I had no idea where to check if it was stolen or not. At that time. I already had the older 105 AF-D Macro and I wanted to compare the two lenses. I found that both hunted for focus in low light and this newer G version did not impress me. So I decided to sell this G macro lens and in the process made some money. Eventually, I also sold the older AF-D (also made some money) and bought the Tokina equivalent. Looking back , I somehow regret selling that G lens, that I probably did not understand what a gem of a lens it is. Oh well, lessons learned 🙂

  2. Hello, great video. Thinking of getting a new macro lens, I am looking for some reviews of the nikon 105mm and sigma 105mm, do you think the nikon is better?
It would be very helpful to know your opinion between these two lenses.
